Update from the Trapper!
05/30/2018
A late spring pushed us back several
weeks with deep snow and thick ice - but the weather
has finally
warmed up and the leeches are flowing! The pictures below are a
few samples
of the
current status of our bait. It seems the late season has been
good for the overall development
of the
ribbon and mud/horse leech, so we're happy to say that we are up
and running!
Happy Fishing!

Fresh Leeches Direct From
The Trapper!
Land of Lakes Bait
is a family
owned and operated leech business located in Mass City,
Michigan.
We only trap and sell
leeches by the pound and we deliver
fresh leeches to our wholesale and retail
customers anywhere in the
continental USA directly from the
trapper. |
On-line ordering ensures that
you are purchasing the freshest bait possible. Leeches are
available May
through September weather
conditions permitting. Your order is shipped UPS
second day air except
for Wisconsin, Michigan and
Illinois where it will be shipped UPS ground. Leeches
are shipped
Monday thru Wednesday. We use
a reusable insulated cooler with ice (see details below) including
instructions on the care and handling of your leeches.
The cooler does not contain any water because
leeches are Annelids and, like night crawlers, get
oxygen through their skin.

Shipping Containers |
Our leeches are shipped in a
reusable container complete with ice pack to ensure
freshness. Leeches that die in transport must be
reported within 24 hours. A handling information sheet
is included with each order. Ribbon leeches are the bait
to use for fishing Walleye, Small mouth, Perch,
Bluegill, and Crappie, Northern Pike and Pan fish. Horse
leeches are great for fishing catfish! The ice pack can
be reused to transport your leeches from lake to lake.
Thank you for your business.
Please check
with your state’s DNR
for new bait
regulations regarding VHS.
